When capturing images of buildings for Fire Studio, there are a few considerations to keep in mind. Modern and smartphones can take extremely high-resolution photos, but this level of detail is usually excessive for Fire Studio and can consume large amounts of graphics memory.
New smart phones are able to capture images at resolutions over 8000 x 6000 pixels. A HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels is more than sufficient. If your phone doesn't allow you to lower the resolution, you may need to use image editing software to resize your photos.
The JPG format is the most commonly used for backgrounds in Fire Studio. Always remember to take your photos in landscape mode, not portrait.
Additionally, it’s important to photograph buildings without many obstructions like trees or power lines in the foreground. Such obstructions can complicate the masking process needed to place smoke and fire behind them.
To maintain the illusion in your simulation, avoid having people in your photos as their static presence disrupts the realism of the scene.
